Helmet requirements for 2009?

Postby skl » Mon Dec 01, 2008 8:51 pm

Will Snell 2000 still be legal for 2009 season or will we need Snell 2005? Trying to plan ahead...

Stu ...

The 2009 GCR is posted on www.scca.com now. My suggestion is to check there. :)

Man I hope so, really don't want to have to buy a new helmet for the upcoming season. (rummaging around for the GCR)

I have an SA2005 G-Force Air (for cooling system) helmet for sale. Like new, white, no graphics, Large, always worn w/ hood. $200.

Normally, for club racing, the helmet requirement is the current or one previous Snell standard. That would be SA2005 and SA2000 until 2010 helmet standards come out (which, based on past history, probably won't happen until late 2010 for the 2011 season). Your SA2000 bucket should be good for a couple of seasons yet -- until the 2010 standard is incorporated into GCR.
