MVRG October enduro at MAM for 2005

How long is the race?
What is the normal turn out?
What classes may run?
Will it be held in 2006?
How is the track? Is it worth the drive?

Thanks

Hi, Ben.

The event is indeed on the schedule for 2005 - October 8-9 is the weekend. (It was initially October 1-2 on some schedules, but we moved it back a week to give our workers who attend the Runoffs a week to catch their breath.)

In 2004 the race was 90 minutes with a mandatory 5-minute stop. Driver change optional.

"Normal Turnout" is a good question - 2004 was the inaugural event, so "normal" has yet to be defined. <a href='http://www.mylaps.com/results/newResults.jsp?id=99391' target='_blank'>http://www.mylaps.com/results/newResults.jsp?id=99391</a> will show you the results from last year.

The track is about as flat as you can make a 2.2 mile track, but it's by no means boring. It's about as safe as you can possibly make a racetrack, so there are very VERY few worries about going off and hitting something. It's also possible to see the entire track from the stands, so it's a bit more entertaining for those spectating.

Is it worth the drive? It is for me.....2.5 hours away. ;)

The video posted on their site is in a street car from about day two - there is at least grass and curbing there now. <a href='http://www.midamericamotorplex.com/code/gallery/default.asp' target='_blank'>http://www.midamericamotorplex.com/code/ga...ery/default.asp</a>

Feel free to drop me a note (jigou@raquet.net) or post here with further questions.
