SCCA is sad to bring you the news of Mike West’s passing. His commitment to motorsports and the Club was astounding and will always be appreciated. He will be dearly missed.

In addition to the SCCA National Awards Mike has received — David Morrell Award for stewards (2006) and the SCCA Worker of the Year (2022) — Mike also received Midwest Division’s highest honor, the England-Stipe Award, in 2007. Mike has served the division as executive steward, race director, certified track reviewer and driver coach, among other accomplishments, for both road racing and time trials. He was a sometime racer himself in Spec Miata.
